Bank
Ratings: How To Find The Best Bank With Bank
Ratings
When
it comes to bank ratings,
there are a few things that are very important to consider. One is
customer
service, of course. Obviously, it’s very difficult to give a
quantifiable
number to this, because
it’s hard
to measure. Many different customers have had different experiences
with every
bank around, some positive, some negative.
Therefore, if you are concerned about customer service, I’d
recommend you type
in a specific bank reviews into Google or Yahoo, and see what comes up.
This
way, you can get a feel for the ratio of positive to negative reviews,
and this
will help you make a more informed decision.
However, most things
about bank and bank ratings are
measurable, such as
interest rates, financial services offered, bank account features, etc.
I
already reviewed the bank of America in another article, so in this one
I will
be covering Citigroup, since these are two of the largest banks in
America.
If you want to get more specific and look for a smaller, bank, again,
type in
the name of that bank into Google and see what you get up.
Citigroup has been in business for over two hundred years, which means
they
obviously have plenty of experience. No, this doesn’t make them
the
best-in fact, this is a minor
consideration,
since there are many banks that have been around for almost as long.
However, it’s something to keep in the back of your mind-they
aren’t going anywhere.
If nothing else, remember to avoid banks that just opened yesterday or
relatively recently, as these fly by night ones are very likely to
fail, as
most start up businesses are.
Citigroup offers bank accounts for both individuals and businesses, as
most
banks do nowadays. This article will focus on the
individual accounts.
For choices among these ones, they have savings
and checking accounts and also online banking for both. For their
savings
accounts, they offer an ultimate money account and an ultimate savings
account.
The ultimate money account achieves a two point sixty five percent
interest
rate, compared with the two point twenty five for the ultimate savings
account.
The money and savings account have no minimum balance and if you have a
checking account with Citigroup, there are no monthly maintenance fees,
but
keep in mind, you will have to do all your banking online with both of
these
(which I’d highly recommend anyway, as it saves you a lot of
time).
Since I don’t have time to review all the features and
accounts of Citigroup,
keep in mind that the interest rates are very competitive when compared
with
other banks, so you will achieve a high ROI with them, at least as high
as you
can by keeping your money in a bank account. Citigroups customer
service is
also very high quality, one of the mainstays that have kept them in
business as
long as they have been.
The bottom line is, if you are looking for bank ratings,
you’d be hard-pressed
to find any banks that can top Bank of America (covered earlier) and
Citigroup, as evidenced by their large customer base and long time of
being in
business. If you are planning on opening an account in the near future,
I’d
highly recommend them.
